All Members to Fill Out Self-Study:  (Deadline Extended to Oct 9)
As part of the process of calling a pastor, Beautiful Savior will undergo a congregational self-study.  This study will help identify the reasons the congregation exists, what needs the congregation should address and help prioritize the characteristics, skills and preferences the next pastor should have.  All this information will help the district president to compile a call list with pastors who would fit the congregation’s style, emphases and needs.  All members are encouraged to fill out the survey so they can have input and ownership in this process.  The deadline to fill out the survey is Oct. 9.
The self-study was emailed to our members on Sept 19.  If you did not receive the email or would prefer a paper copy of the self-study, you may pick one up in the church office. Also: Please check your email junk folder if you did not receive the email.

Sunday School Volunteers Needed:  (Going on Now)
Sunday School wouldn’t be a success without our volunteers!  We are looking for people to help with specific projects (helping with activities, being that extra set of hands in a classroom, helping with memory work, taking attendance, etc), please contact Stacy Knudson, Pastor Chris, or the church office – or stop in the office on Sunday morning to sign up.  We can always use a spare pair of hands!
New Sunday morning Bible study:  (Begins Sept 10 at 9:30am)
Jesus doesn’t always tell you what you want to hear, but He always tells you what you need to hear.  Our Lord has the words of eternal life, and even the hard words of Jesus are given in love. In our culture of sound bites, it’s easy for our Lord’s words to be taken out of context and misunderstood.  Come explore 15 of Christ’s most difficult teaching on topics such as money, family relationships and consequences for sin.  Each lesson will explore one teaching of Jesus by exploring His full treatment of the topic, along with parallel passages through the Bible and its context.  “Jesus Said What?” will help you to understand the hard words of Christ and come to know the love of Jesus behind them.
Confirmation Classes:  (Wednesdays Sept-Apr)
As a part of our education ministry, BSLC offers confirmation classes for students in seventh through ninth grades.  If you have a child in those classes, please have them join us in-person Wednesdays from 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm.  If you have any questions, please talk with Pastor Chris.

Concordia Seminary “Adopt a Student” Program:  (Going on Now)
Our congregation has adopted a Concordia Seminary student, Andrew Freriches.  As part of the program, we are asked not to just pray for Andrew and send him well-wishes, but our congregation is also committed to sending a minimum of $500 during each academic year to help Andrew with his seminary expenses.
Please consider giving over and above your regular offering to support our seminary student.  If you are donating via check, please designate these funds to the Adopt-A-Student program or you may also donate to this program via our website’s giving portal.  Every dollar of support will go to “our” adopted seminarian.  Thank you for your financial support of a future church worker.
Also, please feel free to to send notes of encouragement to Andrew as he prepares to serve in the Office of the Holy Ministry.  Make sure to let him know you are from Beautiful Savior!  If you would like to send a message to Andrew, call the church office or see the bulletin board for his mailing address.

Congregational Memory Verse Challenge:
The church confesses to Christ, “You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68).  The church is encouraged to “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…” (Colossians 3:16).  Psalm 1 teaches us to meditate on God’s Word day and night.  It is our great opportunity and joy to read and study God’s Word.  One beneficial practice is to memorize the Scriptures and, in so doing, to meditate on it.
The LCMS invites everyone to join together memorizing a verse each week.  Click here for this month’s verses.
Follow us on Facebook:
Did you know Beautiful Savior has a Facebook page?  In addition to our website, it’s a great place to see what’s going on at our church.  It gives you a direct link to sermons when they have been posted and also reminds you when events are coming up.  Go to our Facebook page and click “Follow” so our posts come thru on your Facebook feed:  Click here to go to our Facebook page.

There will be a joint Evangelism and Stewardship meeting on Tuesday, March 21 at 11:30am at Ruby Tuesdays to discuss ongoing Evangelism and Stewardship programs.  If you have any suggestions, we would love to hear from you!
We are working on all kinds of fun areas, including: BSLC gear, member involvement, new members, Bible studies, small groups, fellowship, and witnessing.  We will also touch on other areas where we can build and improve on the mission of bringing Christ to Fargo and beyond!!  Please RSVP to tim.deitemeyer@hotmail.com so we can have a large enough table.  Everyone is welcome.
